FAQ

System Questions, Answered

What's the difference between a water softener and a carbon filter?
A softener removes hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium) that cause scale and dry skin. A carbon filter removes chlorine, chloramine, and the taste and odor that come with municipal water. Our whole-home system includes both, so every tap gets soft, filtered water.
Why do I need reverse osmosis if I already have whole-home carbon filtration?
Whole-home filtration protects your plumbing and improves every tap. Reverse osmosis goes further at the kitchen sink, removing dissolved contaminants that carbon alone can't catch. The two work together: filtered water everywhere, purified drinking water where you cook and drink.
What equipment does Mission Water use?
USA-made ResinTech CG10 softening resin, Jacobi coconut shell carbon, a Hankscraft RevV4 ceramic disc control valve, Pentair Structural tanks, and a 6-stage reverse osmosis system with alkaline remineralization. Every component that touches your water meets NSF/ANSI standards.
What is the warranty on a Mission Water system?
Lifetime warranty on tanks and a 5-year warranty on valves and workmanship. If something fails under warranty, we handle it.
How much does a whole-home water system cost in Orange County?
$2,999 installed on city water, $3,500 for the dual-tank system, and starting at $3,300 on well water. All flat-rate, with no in-home sales pitch.
What areas does Mission Water serve?
All of Orange County and the Inland Empire, from Newport Beach and Laguna to Anaheim, Fullerton, and Yorba Linda.
