Do you charge more for being farther away?

No. Flat pricing means the same number whether you're in Dana Point or Fullerton.

How hard is Orange County water?

The Orange County Water District puts average hardness at 10–15 grains per gallon. North county — Anaheim, Yorba Linda, and Brea — runs 17–19 GPG, among the hardest in California. Anything above 7 GPG is considered hard.
