Dual-Tank Whole-Home System

$3,500 installed. Two dedicated tanks, 3.0 cu. ft. of media, reverse osmosis included.

Carbon and resin each get their own tank. Water runs through the carbon first, so the softening resin never sits in chlorinated water, and both tanks backwash clean on every cycle from one smart valve. That separation is the biggest factor in how long a softener lasts.
